A broken hood latch caused a rollover on SH 7 East, 1 mile east of FM 1656, Airport Road yesterday.  At approximately 2:40pm, a 2006 Ford F250 driven by Allen Eddins, 34 of Joaquin, lost control of his truck after the pickup's hood latch broke. Eddins' view was obstructed after the wind caught the hood and slamed it into the windshield.  While trying to keep the truck from veering into oncoming traffic, the truck swayed left and right before flipping over on its side.  DPS Trooper Keith Jones responded to the scene of the accident.  No injuries were sustained nor were any citations issued in light of the unexpected vehicle malfunction.
