NACOGDOCHES COUNTY-Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers

on June 23, responded to a report of a one vehicle fatality crash on US 259 at

approximately 5:15 p.m., just south of the Rusk County line.

 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2017 Dodge pickup towing a trailer

was traveling north on US 259 when the vehicle drove across the southbound lanes

and struck a tree on the west side of the roadway.

 

The driver has been identified as Marvel Bushnell, 39, from Beaumont, TX.

Bushnell was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash by Nacogdoches

County Justice of the Peace Kerry Williamson.

 

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at

this time.
