TAGHS to Work on Photo Identification at June Meeting

“Who is that?” and “Where was that taken?” are the most common questions heard when viewing old photos. The value and significance of an antique photograph is immeasureably increased when the people in it are identified, as well as the place, date, and occasion.

Unfortunately, this information is frequently lost over time. The Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society has a large collection of old photos that have been donated over the years but little or no documentation was provided for many of them.

TAGHS is making a concerted effort to add as much information about these photos as possible and the public is invited to help. At the June 21st monthly TAGHS meeting, members and guests will view a large selection of antique photos and be asked to identify individuals in the picture and share any information they might have about the subject of the photo.

The public is invited to share their knowledge of Timpson's past and to participate the the fun at 2PM this Wednesday in the new meeting room of the Timpson Public Library, located on the corner of Austin and Bremond Streets in downtown Timpson.
