Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers investigated this morning a one-vehicle fatality crash on US 84 about one mile West of Joaquin. The preliminary crash investigation indicates on Mar. 7 at approximately 6:18 a.m., a 2008 Kia Optima was traveling West on US 84 when the vehicle entered a right hand curve. The vehicle drove off the roadway to the left and struck a tree killing the driver. The driver was identified as 23-year-old Richard Wayne Everett III from Tenaha, TX. Everett was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Margie Anderson.
