On October 24, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to a one vehicle crash on US 59.

 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2001Toyota pick-up was traveling

South on US 59, near FM 2782 when the pick-up drove over into the grass median.

The driver then overcorrected to the right, crossed back across the southbound

lanes of US 59, struck a fence and reportedly rolled over several times before

striking a tree.

 

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jimmy Landrum, 71, from Diboll, TX.

Landrum was transported from the scene to Nacogdoches Memorial for possible

treatment. The roadway was partially blocked but has since been reopened for

normal traffic.

 

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at

this time.
