A Texas Treasure Heritage Festival

 
It will be a fun day this Saturday on the square at the A Texas
Treasure Heritage Festival!   Our this year's event chair is Linda Goller.
Heritage demonstrations will be located on Harrison Street.   Besides all
the special treasures inside our downtown stores there will be both food and
art and craft vendors waiting to serve you!   Here are more activities that
are on tap!   
 
 
 
 
 
.         Cemetery Tours   10:30-11:30 and 12:30-1:30   Betty Oglesbee,
chair  and SFASU Theater Department
 
.         "ART: Texas Heritage Style" Exhibit housed inside the Courthouse,
Glenda Harrison, chair
 
.         The Great San Augustine Treasure Hunt Sign ups for kids ages 8-17
at the pavilion at 1-1:30 Brittney Ford, chair 
 
.         Antique and Muscle Car Show Billy Johnson and Brittney Ford,
chairs  (it will be full of cars on Broadway Street!)
 
.         Texas Treasure Business Awards Presentations at noon at the
Pavilion with reception to follow down at the old Stripling Drug Store   
 
.         Quilt Exhibit in the JP Mathews building, Connie Owens, chair  
 
.         Genealogy Tracing Your Family History in front at the JPMathews
building and Mathews Medical, Connie Owens chair
 
.         East Texas Book Authors inside the Texas Star Retail Store
 
.         Free Grapefruit Highballs all day Saturday at San Augustine Drug
Company
 
.         Double EE Boot and Saddle Repair will have heritage photographs a
must see 
 
.         The Fat Cow will be serving food inside and outside! 
 
.         Pinto Bean Cooking Contest in the Gazebo    Elsie Chase, chair 
 
.         SFASU and City of San Augustine Oral History Kiosk in the
commissioners court room San Augustine County Courthouse 
 
.         And more that was probably left out!
 
 
 
The square will be blocked off to thru traffic.   Parking on Saturday is
generously available at the Church of Christ parking lot behind the Post
Office,  Compass Bank parking lot,  Tiller and Tiller lot  (and behind
storage buildings)  on Broadway,  Blount property at the intersection of
Broadway and Main.
