* From Tuesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon
* a strong upper level storm system will develop and shift
southeast into northern Mexico Tuesday... and remain nearly
stationary through at least Thursday. Upper level disturbances
ejecting northeast ahead of this storm system will trigger
periods of showers and thunderstorms over much of the region
Tuesday through Thursday. The threat for heavy rainfall and
flash flooding will increase Tuesday night over much of the
region... and gradually shift east Wednesday. Additional
redevelopment is expected Wednesday night and Thursday
especially over extreme eastern Texas... north Louisiana... and
southwest Arkansas... which will yield the continued threat for
heavy rainfall. Widespread rainfall amounts of three to six
inches are expected Tuesday night through Thursday
afternoon... with isolated higher amounts up to nine inches
possible especially over extreme eastern Texas... western
Louisiana... and southwest Arkansas.
* This heavy rainfall may also result in flooding of area
rivers... creeks and streams... especially across East
Texas... southeast Oklahoma... southwest Arkansas and western
Louisiana.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
