1  The Joaquin ISD School Board met tonight in regular session at 6:00 p.m. in the Joaquin Boardroom with the following members

    present: Jay Dee Cockrell, Jimmy Hamilton, Ronnie Belrose, Tam Hearnsberger and  Thomas Harvey

 

Board members absent:  Chrisco Bragg and Charles Leflett

 

Guest(s) Present: Joe Smith, Texas ISD,

 

Joaquin ISD Employee(s) Present:  Phil Worsham, Superintendent; Joel Bumback, Director of Finance, Bert Coan, Assistant Elementary Principal & Districtwide Truancy; Jimmy Jackson, High School Principal/Transportation Director; Mark Bonner, Maintenance Director; Donna Vergo, Human Resources

 

Jay Dee Cockrell, President, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

 

2  The invocation was led by Ronnie Belrose, and the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America by Jimmy Hamilton, and the

    Pledge of Allegiance to the Texas Flag was led by Jay Dee Cockrell.

4  Report and Information items:

4.1       TRE information from Joe Smith

4.2       Jr. High and Elementary UIL Academic Contest Report

4.3       Review Monthly Financial and Quarterly Investment Report

4.4       Hand out Superintendent’s Evaluation Form

4.5       Examples of STAAR and EOC Test for Board

4.6       Discuss Maintenance and Repairs items (bus lane cover, plumbing in old gym, and other items)

4.7       Correspondence

 

5  Agenda Items for discussion, consideration, and possible action:

5.1       It was moved by Tam Hearnsberger, and seconded by Ronnie Belrose, to approve minutes (attached). 

            Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. 4 for with one abstention (Jimmy Hamilton) Motion carried.

            5.2       It was moved by Ronnie Belrose, and seconded by Jimmy Hamilton, to approve Joaquin ISD appraisers for 2015-16

(attached).  Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion.  It carried unanimously. 

            5.3       It was moved by Ronnie Belrose, and seconded by Tam Hearnsberger, to approve the Board Operating Procedures. 

Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion.  It carried unanimously.

 

6.  Jay Dee Cockrell, Board President, ask for items to be placed on the next board agenda.

7   Designation of date and time of next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Joaquin ISD –

Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 6:00 p.m.

 

 

8  With no further business on the agenda the meeting was adjourn at 8:09  p.m.
