Roarin' Band Students Compete in All-Region Competition

In the last two weeks, five Tenaha middle school band students and one Tenaha high school band student competed for the chance to earn a chair in one of the Region 21 ATSSB All-Region Bands.  The Tenaha band students competed against the most talented band students from other 1A-4A schools in this region.  All of the Tenaha band students worked hard over several months to prepare audition music for this competition.  Each student competed on his or her individual instrument as opposed to competing as an ensemble or group.  Those that made the band will perform in kind of an "all-star" band that will practice together for one day, and then will perform a concert that same night in Chapel Hill on January 16, 2015.  The following students from Tenaha made the band:

Middle School Region Band- South Zone Results: Banner Warr:  10th Chair French Horn in the Middle School South Zone Band (alternate)

High School Region Band Results: Jacob Samford:  3rd chair trombone in the High School Symphonic Band (out of 72 trombones!), and also advanced to area competition.  Jacob will audition on January 9, 2016 to earn a chance for a chair in the All-State band for the second consecutive year in a roll!

Congrats to all of these very talented students!
