Obituary: Billy Joe Bowen

Billy Joe Bowen, 80, of Center, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015, in Nacogdoches.

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2015, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Sam Wheeler officiating.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Center.

 

Mr. Bowen was born April 14, 1935, in Black Jack, Texas, to Willie L. Bowen and Livvie Lee Luman Bowen.  He was the youngest of six children. Mr. Bowen served in the United States Army. He was a Deacon at Center Christian Church.

 

Mr. Bowen is survived by

Wife of 54 years: Ann Schillings Bowen of Shelbyville

 

Daughter: Shana Brittain and husband, Boby, of Shelbyville

 

Grandsons:

Seth Brittain and fiancé, Morgan Dyess, of Houston

Jaxon Brittain of Shelbyville

 

Sister: Jean Brandon and husband, H.L. Brandon, of Appleby

 

Sister-in-law: Donna Kay Thomason of Center

 

Brother-in-law: Joe Tom Schillings and wife, Kathryn, of Shelbyville
