UPDATE: Kerry Steven Whiteside

Kerry Steven Whiteside, 52, of Gary, Texas passed away at his residence, on Sunday, September 6, 2015.  He was born in Gary, Texas on September 6, 1963, the son of Kenneth Whiteside and Jo Ann Pass Whiteside.  Visitation for Kerry will be on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Taylor Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be on Thursday, September 10, 2015, 2 PM, at Taylor Funeral Home with Reverend Dwain “Bubba” Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Corinth Cemetery.
 
Kerry was born and grew up in Gary, Texas.  He attended Timpson High School where he was active in the football program.  He served in the United States Army for 23 years.  He was deployed to Iraq in 2001 to 2002.  On April 26, 2003, he married Carrie Stacker.  They enjoyed nine happy years together.
 
Kerry had a vast array of hobbies.  He enjoyed hunting and carpentry.  He always said that if he could make a living as a builder, he would have done it.  Kerry enjoyed being in theater while he attended college.  His claim to fame is that he is the only person who has driven a military tank through Longview, Texas.  He enjoyed telling that story every chance he got.
 
Kerry is survived by his parents; loving wife, Carrie; sons, Steven Harris and Austin Harris; daughter, Katie Whiteside; brother Keith Whiteside and his wife, Sherry Campbell and his sister, Karen McAllister and husband, Kevin.
 
Kerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacy Whiteside.
 
Serving as pallbearers for Kerry are Austin Harris, Steven Harris, Robert Phoenix, Joe Calhoun, and Henry Marx.  
 
The family of Kerry Whiteside is being served by Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson, Texas.
