Shelby County Chamber of Commerce announces A Dinner and An Auction Event
 
with the Chicken Cooking Contest and Rooster Revel
 
Center, Texas –  The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce announces the collaboration of the Chicken Cooking 
 
Contest and the Rooster Revel with “A Dinner Auction” event beginning at 5:00 p.m. immediately following the 39th East 
 
Texas Poultry Festival Doo Dah parade on Super Wednesday, September 23, 2015 on the north side of the historic 
 
downtown Center square.  In the event of inclement weather, the event will move to the active Shelby County Courthouse 
 
community room.
 
The Chicken Cooking Contest is open for participation in three categories, Youth (ages 8 – 17), Adult (age 18 and above) 
 
and Professional.  Chicken Cooking Contest awards and trophies will be presented in each category with First Place 
 
$100, Second Place $50 and Third Place $25.  All cooking awards will be presented at the conclusion of the Rooster 
 
Revel Auction at 6:00 p.m. Event attendees can purchase Food Sampling tickets for $5.00 and ticket holders can vote in 
 
the People’s Choice Award and Best Dressed Table categories. 
 
To be eligible for the cooking contest, participants must submit their recipes to the Chamber office by the entry deadline 
 
Wednesday, September 16, 2015 by email info@shelbycountychamber.com, postal mail or delivered to 100 Courthouse

Festival Chairman Jim Sawyer stated the Rooster Revel live and silent auction will be happening simultaneously during 
 
the Chicken Cooking Contest.  The exclusive Rooster Revel 2015 metal art silhouette designs are created and hand 
 
painted by the Center High School Agribusiness and Marketing students led by teacher, Jessica Shadix  The limited 
 
edition artistic creations will be on display for public viewing at various business locations prior to the auction according to 
 
Rooster Revel Chairman, Andi Foster.  
 
The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and the 39th East Texas Poultry Festival Steering Committee extends a
