LUFKIN  - Consultants working on a future construction project in Nacogdoches County will perform work beginning Thursday that will require alternating lane closures on FM 1878 at the La Nana Creek Bridge.

TxDOT is preparing to replace the existing La Nana Creek Bridge. The construction project is slated to begin in 2017 following environmental clearance and design work. Prior to construction, soil samples must be taken as engineers continue to study and design the replacement bridge. Workers will take soil samples Thursday that will require the lane closures on FM 1878 at La Nana Creek.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution in the area throughout the day and be prepared to stop, reduce speed and watch for all directional signs and/or workers that might be present at the bridge area.
