Sheriff Arbuckle would like to remind the public of the dangers of synthetic marijuana.  There have been many reports recently of hospitalizations related to the use of the synthetic marijuana.  Although many people believe it is safer since it is available in a commercial type packaging, synthetic marijuana contains many harmful substances not normally found in marijuana.  The drugs usually originally come from China (sometimes from India and the Middle East) and start off in powder form.  The powder is dissolved in acetone to create a liquid solution which is then sprayed on a plant material, normally an inert materially like Damiana leaf.  This chemical concoction normally contains JWH-018, a painkiller, XLR-11, a cancer treatment drug, or JWH-18, used in fertilizers.  The chemicals vary in quantity and potency, and are rarely the same package to package.  Many of these chemicals are not even allowed to be used on rats in laboratory testing.  Sheriff Arbuckle asks that you refrain from the use of all narcotics, even more so the chemically engineered narcotics such as synthetic marijuana.
