Hudson hit with $1 million civil suit after alleged assault on SFA employee

A Center native and Nacogdoches businessman that’s been involved in a whirl-wind of legal issues in the past year has had a $1 million civil suit filed against him by an SFA employee.

The Daily Sentinel is reporting 60-year old Willie Hudson allegedly assaulted and injured 54-year old Mark Porter more than a year ago near Cole Art Center in downtown Nacogdoches.

Court records show the jury trial in that case is scheduled for today in the 145th Judicial District Court, where Porter also filed his civil suit against Hudson and Hudson Acquisitions Inc.

Hudson was released from the Nacogdoches County jail last week after Judge Ed Klein reduced his six-month sentence to 130 days.

Porter is the technical director for the SFA School of Theatre.

Hudson on Thursday filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy and a day later, filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in federal court. In the latter, he included his businesses Nacogdoches Hardware and Rental and Mineral Wells Hardware and Rental.
