Funeral Notice: Mr. Bernard LeRoy Woods

Obituary of Bernard Woods

Mr. Bernard LeRoy Woods, age 91, longtime resident of San Augustine, passed from this life Monday morning, June 22, 2015, in Nacogdoches.

 

Bernard was born to Inez (Robinson) Woods and G.D. Woods on July 16, 1927, in San Augustine County, Texas. He served in the United States Navy during W.W. II, and was a retired Banker and Rancher. He thoroughly loved participating and being involved with young people in 4-H, and Rodeo. He was active in the San Augustine Cowboy Church, where along with his recently deceased wife of 69 years, Wilma (Berry) Woods were members.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Berry Lynn Woods Lenox and her husband, "Scooter" Joe of Georgetown; son, Don Woods and his wife, Ruth Ann of Texarkana, Arkansas; His beloved grandchildren, Misty Lynn Hoyt Marek; Casey Leigh Meddeaux and husband Scott; Justin Woods and wife Tera and Joey Lenox and wife Chelsea; Great-grandchildren, Mayce Marek; Anna Woods; Stella Maddeaux and Judah Freeman Woods.

 

He is preceded in death his wife of 69 years, Wilma (Berry) Woods.

 

Funeral Services will be Friday, June 26, 2015, 11:00 a.m. in the San Augustine County Cowboy Church with Bro. Jim Moss, Charles Sharp and Charles Boyette officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine County, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday evening, June 25, 2015, from the hours of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas 75972. Pallbearers are Steve Sublett, Joe Sublett, Phil Sublett, Edward McEachern, David McEachern, Billy Archer, David Davidson, Charles Donald Boyette, Dan Fussell and Jason Hines.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the San Augustine County Cowboy Church.
