Ribbon cutting held for grand opening of Check Point/McDonalds in San Augustine Thursday

 

The San Augustine County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting Thursday afternoon for the grand opening of the new Denny Oil Company Check Point/McDonalds in San Augustine. The chamber, city and community turned out to welcome the store. (Top picture) Rory Messick, McDonalds owner/operator does the honors to officially open the restaurant. After the cutting, Messick presented the Boys & Girls Club of Deep East Texas in San Augustine with a check for $1,000. (Bottom picture) Denny Oil Company President Dick Rudisill (center, white shirt) was on hand with civic and community leaders to open the convenience store side of the new Check Point/McDonalds. Rudisill presented a $500 check to the San Augustine Vol. Fire Dept. during the event. The store is 24-hours, while McDonalds has operating hours at this time.
