Our very unstable weather produced what was believed to be a possible funnel cloud sited by a motorist along US 59 between Timpson and Garrison around 4 p.m. Friday.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Dept. notified Center Broadcasting that a tornado was spotted near the Shelby and Rusk/Nacogdoches County line.

After law enforcement checked the area and had no reports of confirmed damage, we were told by a Garrison-based storm spotter that there was no tornado it just appeared that way to the motorist.
