Funeral Notice: Hallie Pearce

Hallie Pearce, 99, of San Augustine, Texas, departed for her Heavenly home June 10, 2015, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Carey and Bob Densmore, of Round Rock, Texas.
 
She was born on October 10, 1915 in Mineola, Texas and lacked 4 months celebrating her 100th birthday. She was named for her father, Hal. The enclosure of the hymn, "Beautiful Isle" was remembered being sung by her mother Mildred Ella each morning as she prepared the morning meal.
 
At an early age the family moved to San Augustine, Texas, where she was educated in the San Augustine schools. Marrying R.A. Pearce in 1934 their first home was the PINK LADY now the home of the San Augustine Garden Club, their daughter Sarah was born in this home.
 
She was a devoted wife and mother, a role model for her children and grandchildren always showering them with love, and enjoying family occasions together. The love for her Lord was always evident in her service to her church and friends, she was a caring, giving person and it was her delight to meet new friends when associated with Clark, Downs and Company.
 
She was one of the first members and president of the WSCS "Women's Society of Christian Service", held membership in the San Augustine Garden Club, Thursday Bible Club, and the San Augustine Study Club.
 
She and Mary E. Saunders were Kindergarten Sunday School Teachers in the forties. She was a leader with the Junior Sunday School Class, which was her son James' group. Her special Blessing was serving on the Missions Board organized in 1963 and participating in Faith Promise Program.
 
She is survived by her daughters Sarah Mathews of Jasper, Texas; Carey Densmore and husband Bob of Round Rock, Texas; brother Donald Stallings and her dear sister-in-law Hazel Stallings of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, L.L. Mathews Jr. and wife Alison, Larry Pearce Mathews and wife Judy, Joseph Reese Mathews, Lydia Mathis and husband Jay Mathis, Robert Densmore and wife Alison, Andrew Densmore, Robert Andrew Pearce IV and wife Renelle, and Kelly Hess and husband Mark; four nephews and four nieces; great-grandchildren, Caroline Mathews, Taylor Mathews and wife Lindsey, Daniel Mathews, Samuel Mathews, Andrew Mathews, Jarrod Mathis, Lawrie Mathis Bomar and husband Jonathan, Harriet Pearce, Anne Pearce, Sam Hess and Olivia Hess.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband R.A. Pearce Jr.; sons, Robert Andrew Pearce III, and James Franklin Pearce; infant daughter Betty, and son-in-law L.L. "Boo" Mathews. Her parents, Hal Driscoll and Mildred Ella Stallings; sisters, Geneva Stephens and Christine Calcote; brothers, W.D. Stallings and J.C. Stallings.
 
A gathering of her friends and family will be from 3 to 5 o'clock June 14, 2015 at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home. Her service will be Monday June 15 at 11:00 at First United Methodist Church in San Augustine, Texas, with Rev. Martin Doran and Pastor Jay Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine County, Texas.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the San Augustine First Methodist Church and the Mission Program of the Church.
