The Shelbyville Dragon Military Marching Band has had a long tradition of success, and this week that tradition continued. 

On Wednesday April 29th the Dragon Band performed in the Region 21 UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest.  The band earned a first division rating from all the judges in both concert and sight reading. 

Because the Dragon band received first division ratings in all 3 UIL events (marching, concert, sight reading) they were awarded the Sweepstakes trophy. 

This is the 6th consecutive year that the band has received the prestigious Sweepstakes trophy, which is the longest streak for 2A bands in Region 21.
