REVISED: Gregory named new Center High School principal, Henson assumes middle school position

Center ISD didn't have to go far to find a new high school principal as Matthew Gregory, the current middle school principal will take over for Tim Norman, who's leaving the district to become the next superintendent of the Chireno ISD.

According to CISD Superintendent Dr. James Hockenberry, after careful thought and consideration, it was determined that Gregory is the best candidate of the job.

Hockenberry said Gregory will assume his new duties June 1.

He's served CISD as been a teacher, coach, and assistant principal.

Hockenberry said Gregory has a deep understanding of the system and high expectations for himself and others. "He'll be an exceptional principal for CHS," Hockenberry stated.

Gregory has spent time in Ft. Worth and Nacogdoches ISDs. His wife, Kara, is also a teacher in the district.
