Our Deep East Texas ForecastOnce the front moved out of our area Saturday it was a really nice day to get the yard mowed and the weeds out of the flower beds.
Don't fret, today will also be sunny...and HOT at 90 degrees, less wind ...and a whole lot of humidity!! Keep in mind, the sun will put a lot of sunburn hurt on your exposed skin if you don't prepare. While you are at it protect yourselves from the mosquitos that are out.
Monday, Clouds and another disturbance makes its way into our area around 5 am with some light drizzle that by 8 am will turn into rain and T-storms. We could catch another 1.3 inches of rain over the Monday and Tuesday period...Clearing by Tuesday at 5 pm.
Lots of Sunshine through next Sunday...Then...expect more wet stuff... That's ok because We will be in May and we will need to have our May rain if we are to meet our 37 year average of....5.08 inches.

Survey summary: an EF1 tornado touched down 8.5 miles WSW of
Gilmer. Damage consisted numerous trees uprooted and snapped. One
tree fell on a house... but damage to the home was minor to
moderate. Damage in The Union hill area was also surveyed... but
damage was determined to be associated with straight line wind
damage. The Union hill High School had roof damage... and several
homes had damage mainly due to fallen trees on the home.
