It'll be a battle of two state-ranked teams tonight as the Center Roughriders and Carthage Bulldogs are scheduled to play the rubber game of their district schedule in Carthage tonight, weather permitting. After splitting the two previous meetings, this one could mean a lot in playoff seeding. Both teams are headed to the playoffs, and Carthage (8-1) has a half-game lead on Center (8-2). The Riders are to play a non-district game at Huffman Saturday.

In Dist. 23-2A last night, the Joaquin Rams and Timpson Bears go an extra inning with the Rams taking an 8-7 win in the 8th when Nate Belrose scored on a passed ball. The win improves Joaquin to 7-5, while Timpson drops to 8-4 as both teams battle for a playoff spot. Today, the Rams host the Shelbyville Dragons (5-6) while the Bears are home against Martinsville. Also, in district play, Tenaha (3-8) goes to Mount Enterprise. Gary is in second at 9-3 and hosts 12-0 Beckville today.

In Dist. 24-2A, the top three are state-ranked with West Sabine at 13-0, Broaddus 14-1 and Colmesneil 11-3. The meeting on April 28 with Broaddus at West Sabine will likely be for the district championship. All three will represent the district in the playoffs.
