Tracy Byrd to be inducted into Texas Country Music Hall of Fame

The Texas County Music Hall of Fame in Carthage has announced that Tracy Byrd will be inducted into the family on Aug. 8.

 

The announcement came last Saturday in Orange. Byrd joins other notable members such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, The Gatlin Brothers, Mickey Gilley, Tanya Tucker, Jimmy Dean, Ernest Tubb, Neal McCoy, Buck Owens, Gene Autry and more.

 

The Vidor native has more than 30 hits, including a No. 1 with "Holdin' Heaven" in 1993, and "The Keeper of the Stars", the Song of the Year at the CMAs in 1995.

 

The induction ceremony and Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Show will be held at 7 p.m. August 8 at the Carthage Civic Center.
