Desere' Cooper and Jaz Atkins, traveled to Corpus Christi for the state meet over spring break along with their coach, Carrie Obregon. 

Desere' had qualified to participate and once they arrived at the meet they learned that Jaz had the opportunity to participate also. 

Headed into the deadlift, Desere' was in third place and going for a weight that would possibly move her into 2nd she was unable to successfully make her lift. Jaz, however was able to make her lifts and placed 4th in her class.
