The Timpson City Council approved the hiring of a new city secretary at their meeting last night.

Leslie Leathers will start in the position next Monday. She was hired to fill the job left vacant by the departure of Barbara Hunt.

Timpson Council also agreed on placement of a portable building on city owned property adjacent to city hall for JP Pct. 5 Michael Crouch’s office. The city would wave rent and collect all fees associated with city utilities. The building is to be purchased by Shelby County.
