Foggy conditions, speed leads to accident on Hwy. 7 west Monday morning, no major injuries

Foggy conditions are reported to be a factor in a two-vehicle accident on State Hwy. 7 west in Center Monday morning.

According to Center PD Officer Bobby Walker, a 2001 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 30-year old Jacquelyn Lyndsay Elmore of Center was westbound on Nacogdoches Street stopping for a school bus at Watlington Street, when she was struck from the rear by a 2009 Dodge Charger driven by 41-year old Kimberly Trachelle Long of Joaquin before 7 a.m.

There were three young passengers in Ms. Elmore’s vehicle, ages 1, 8 and 10, they were uninjured.

After family members arrived at the scene to pick up the children, Ms. Elmore was taken by ACE EMS to Center Emergency Department for observation. She was later released.

Ms. Long refused medical attention.

Officer Walker reports Ms. Long was cited for failure to control speed.
