UPDATE: Snow expected to continue until 2 p.m.

The ground temperature is near the freezing mark in many areas and the rain has transitioned to all snow here in San Augustine and surrounding counties.

The snow is expected to continue until around 2:00 pm today.  The snow is quickly spreading across much of Deep East Texas. The snow is wet and heavy and is beginning to stick to bridges and overpasses.

Motorists should use extreme caution...especially on those elevated areas.

The forecast is for close to 1 inch accumulations in the next 2 hours.

We are slightly above the freezing mark, but the snow will hold or drop the temperatures to slightly below freezing with the accumulation.

We are right on the edge of the snow line and we could begin to get out of the low 30's by 3 to 4 pm this afternoon.
