Playoff Time-  On the Road!!!!

Tigers Look to Put Cushing on Ice

Tonight at 6 PM, barring, too much bad weather, the Tenaha Tigers will open
up the 2015 State Playoffs with a Bi-District match-up vs. the Cushing
Bearkats in Cushing.  When the two teams met to set up the match-up, both
schools agreed that the new facility in Cushing and the Tenaha S.E.C. were
the two best locations in East Texas for a playoff game, so…. Why not flip
for home and home?  The coin came up in favor of the Bearkats and therefore,
the Tigers will have to face a hostile road environment tonight in order to
earn a trip to the Area Finals where San Augustine awaits.  Be careful in
the weather, but let’s see if the Tiger Nation can “ice” the Bearkat
enthusiasm and home crowd.  


Lady Tigers face Evadale with Regional Tourney Trip at Stake

Tuesday in Lufkin at 6:15 PM, the Tenaha Lady Tigers face a tough challenge
in the form of the District 24-2A Champion Evadale Lady Rebels.  The winner
will advance to Leon High School for the Regional Semi-Finals against either
Hubbard or Lovelady at 5:00 PM on Friday.  The District 22-2A Champion Lady
Tigers (now 24-9) advanced to the Regional Quarterfinals for the 2nd
straight year by defeating Colmesneil 43-35 Last Thursday.    

Soccer

The Lady Tiger soccer team faced Chapel Hill Friday and finished the game
with a win and score of 2-0.  Freshman, Sidney Cheshire, broke through the
defense with an assist from Ana Segovia and scored a goal early in the
second half.  Lady Tiger defense held the score and senior goal keeper,
Marissa Cooper, recorded her third shut out.  With one minute left in the
2nd half, Senior, Cheyenne Koller, was awarded a penalty kick and scored a
perfect goal, winning the game with the score of 2-0.  The Lady Tigers will
finish the season with a small school tournament hosted by New Summerfield.
The first game is against New Summerfield, Friday morning at 8:00 am,
followed by a 12:00 game vs.  Robert E. Lee JV at Jacksonville College.  The
final game of the season will be Saturday at 1:00 vs the Crockett Lady
Bulldogs at Jacksonville College.
