Born March 14, 1933 in Harris County, Tx, to Orbie John Hairston and Marie Floyd Hairston

Married T. F. Story on September 11, 1953, they made their home and raised their children in Houston, Tx. where she lived for over 45 years.

She Retired from Star Enterprise, a subsidiary or Texaco/Shell after working in the Accounting Dept.

After retiring she moved to Garrison, Tx in 2001 to be near her daughter and her family.  She especially enjoyed being able to go and watch her Grandson's participate in their many FFA and Sporting activities. She was one of their biggest fans.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, watching movies, listening to music, putting together jigsaw puzzles and playing games.  She had a very competitive spirit and liked to win at whatever game she was playing and the rules to the games usually changed to fit her winning!!!  She could smack talk with the best of them!!! She had been struggling with many health issues and was homebound for the past several years.  She loved the Lord and when she was able to attend church she attended the Garrison Church of Christ. We had many conversations about her relationship with the Lord and she said "she was ready when he was"!!  We take great comfort in knowing that she left this world peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 and is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and son.  She is survived by Daughter, Kim Story Dees and Husband Tommy, Daughter-in-law Susan Story, Grandsons, Chris Dees and wife Sydni, Mark Dees and wife Alexandria, Jeremy Story and wife Emily, Granddaughter Marimonnie Pierce and husband Kevin and Great Granddaughter Heidi Pierce. Also, her loving fur baby "Max".

Services are under the direction of Garrison Funeral Home in Garrison, Texas.
