Starting Monday, there will soon be a new healthcare facility in Center as Family Nurse Practioner Sharon Nelson will be opening Center Family Care at 420 Tenaha Street.

Ms. Nelson has a long history of providing healthcare in Shelby County, as she worked alongside her dad, the late Dr. Joe Hooker.

In addition to exams, physicals, lab work, sick visits for all ages, Ms. Nelson says she’s hoping to have several specialist come into Center so locals will not have to travel so far out of town.

Joining Ms. Nelson at the new clinic will be Dr. Steve Le of Livingston.

She said disease management for blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol will also be offered.

Also, Occupational Therapist Darrell Williams will be providing outpatient therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy.
