Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces pending service for 77-year old Sylvia M. Fuller of Center. She passed away Sunday in Nacogdoches.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces service for 81-year old Jean Hughes of Nacogdoches, formerly of Shelby County. She passed away Friday in Nacogdoches. Service will be at 2 p.m. today at Watson & Sons Funeral Home, with interment at Sardis Cemetery, Shelby County. A visitation will be held prior to service beginning at 12 noon today. Among Jean Hughes’ survivors are children, Margaret Gordy of Gilmer, Franklin “Tom” Hughes of Nacogdoches and James Hughes of Center; sister, Mary Ellen E. & Troy Long of Henderson; and sister-in-law, Linda Hughes of Orange.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of service yesterday for 80-year old Josephine Mitchell Bomar of Center. She passed away Christmas Day in Tyler. Service was held Sunday at Watson & Sons Chapel, with interment at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. For many years she worked at The Lily Farm in Center. Among Josephine Mitchell Bomar’s survivors are children, Dena & John Nill of Springfield, Missouri, Dinett & Kirk Yarbrough of Center, Derral & Rose Bomar of Livingston and Dwayn & Laticia Bomar of Center; and brother, Robert Mitchell of England. In lieu of flowers, a memorial account has been set up in Ms. Bomar’s name at Shelby Savings Bank in Center.

 

Mangum Funeral Home announces graveside service for 68-year old Larry Fred Matthews of Carthage. He passed away Saturday at his residence. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mangum Funeral Home. Among Larry Fred Matthews’ survivors are sons, Clint Matthews of Houston and Matt Matthews of Carthage; daughter, Joy Matthews of Houston; sisters-in-law, Marcia Pruett of Houston and Marie Danza of Idaho; and brother-in-law, Llloyd Kelley of Houston.

 

Taylor Funeral Home of Timpson was in charge of a graveside service for 71-year old Joe Loyd Powdrill. He passed away Friday at his home in the Silas Community near Timpson. Service was held Saturday morning at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Timpson. Among Joe Loyd Powdrill’s survivors is a sister, Joy Bonner and husband Robert of Many (Toledo Bend), Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sue Schulz, Joe’s caregiver.
