The Center ISD Board of Trustees announced the search committee for a new athletic director and head football coach at their meeting Thursday night.

 

It will be the committee’s responsibility to filter through the applicants and come up with whom they believe are the best candidates for the position for the board to possibly take action on.

 

The committee consist of 12 individuals from the community, CISD administrators, and school board members.

 

Among those named to the search committee are: community members-Greg Hubbard, Holly Burns, Jesse Ruiz, Traci Mettauer, Alvin Davis and Deuce Wulf.

 

CISD administrators-middle school principal Matt Gregory & high school principal Tim Norman.

 

School board members-John Henry Holloway & Daphne LaRock.

 

Ex officio members-Superintendent Dr. James Hockenberry and school board president-James Greer.

 

The search was prompted by the resignation last month of Kevin Goodwin, who left after six years as CISD AD/head football coach.

 

Greer says the committee hopes to meet before Christmas to organize and discuss procedures and expectations. He added they’ll start reviewing applications after the first of the year when the posting of position ends.

 

He said the board hoped to hire at the February board meeting.
