Local Sports Round up 12/12/14; Tenaha vs. Bremond with state-title game on the line, Riders open with two wins in Central Heights tourney

In sports,

The (11-1) Tenaha Tigers meet (13-0) Bremond in a Class 2A, Div. II state semi-final football playoff game at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Nacogdoches at SFA’s Homer Bryce Stadium.

Tenaha is seeking its third state final appearance in four years. The Tenaha-Bremond winner will play the Seagraves-Albany winner (game being played in Snyder Friday) for the state championship at AT&T Stadium in Arlington next week.

It's the fourth-straight year Tenaha & Bremond have meet in the playoffs. The Tigers' run of four straight Region III crowns and four straight appearances in the State Semi-Finals began in 2011 when Tenaha defeated Burton 62-28 en route to the 2011 State Championship. In 2012, the Tigers blew out Falls City 42-14, and last year in a heartbreaking rematch, Falls City returned the favor 36-34.

Robert Barton will have a broadcast of the game on Pineywoodssports.com.
