Joaquin woman cited in two-vehicle collision on US 96 Wednesday morning

A Joaquin woman was cited for failure to control speed after she struck a pickup from behind on US Hwy. 96 north of Center near the country club just before 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

DPS Corporal Jimmy Faulkner investigated the accident and said a Chevrolet pickup driven by 46-year old Andres Olvera of Henderson was attempting to make a left turn into a private driveway when he was hit from behind by a 2015 Toyota driven by 32-year old Dayna Swann.

Corpl. Faulkner said Ms. Swann crested a hill and struck the pickup. She, along with a passenger in the pickup were taken by EMS to a Nacogdoches hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
