Hadnot expected to plead guilty for his part in Alfred Wright's death

After pleading not guilty in August, the Jasper man who was arrested in connection to the death of Alfred Wright is scheduled for a change of plea hearing next Wednesday in Beaumont.

According to court documents, 28-year old Shane Dwayne Hadnot is expected to plead guilty for his part in Wright's death.

Wright went missing on Nov. 7, 2013 in Hemphill, and family members found his body in a wooded area of Sabine County on Nov. 25.

According to the indictment, an investigation revealed Wright's involvement with Hadnot. Phone records, witness statements and drug evidence located during the search of Hadnot's car, indicated Hadnot was selling cocaine to Wright.

A federal grand jury indicted Hadnot on a charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance resulting in death.
