Goodwill Industries of East Texas will be opening their newest retail store in Center this Friday morning. The location is in a portion of the former Wal-Mart building at the north traffic intersection. Goodwill Industries of East Texas Executive Director Kimberly Lewis says the business community has already given the organization a good welcome and they're looking forward to doing business here.

 

She added they can't wait to open their doors and let you see what they have to offer.

 

Ms. Lewis says the store will be nearly 12,000 sq. ft. and will employee 20, who are already on the job preparing for Friday's opening at 9 a.m.

 

She added the Center Goodwill store will also offer a "Good Assist" program, which can provides a number of opportunities to an individual.

 

These include one-on-one help for applying for Medicaid, jobs and other benefits.

 

The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador's ribbon cutting takes place at 11:30 Friday morning. Store hours will be 9 to 6, Monday thru Saturday, and 1 to 5 Sunday.

 

Center Broadcasting will be on hand from 1 to 3 p.m. with a live broadcast on Q-100 KQBB.
