Center Broadcasting assisting with Nacogdoches Toys for Tots effort

Center Broadcasting has joined with Toys for Tots to assist in collecting new, unwrapped toys to distribute to needy children in the community this Christmas.

Nacogdoches County Toys for Tots coordinator Ronnie Bowser has been heading up efforts for 12 years, and says its his goal is to give at least three toys each to some 3,500 youngsters from age one to 12 years.

This Saturday, efforts will focus on the Nacogdoches Wal-Mart where a toy drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Bowser says he prefers to take toy donations, but also takes monetary help.

There's several other events taking place around Nacogdoches before Christmas to assist with Toys for Tots efforts.

Bowser says he's assisting with the Shelby County based, "Santa Rides a Motorcycle" and the Boys & Girls Club in San Augustine to help in giving toys to area children.

Bowser adds the next two weekends are his largest collection periods as he attempts to collect around 12,000 toys for children in Deep East Texas.

Center Broadcasting's Q-100 KQBB will be live on location from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Nacogdoches Wal-Mart assisting in toy and monetary collections for Toys for Tots.
