Mangum Funeral Home announces a memorial visitation for 86-year old Fannie Choate of Center. She passed away Saturday at Holiday Nursing Home. Memorial visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mangum Funeral Home. Among Fannie Choate’s survivors are children, Polley & Billy Shaw of Ft. Smith, Ark., Bobby & Kay Choate of Bossier City, and Kathy & Gene Lee of Coolidge, AZ; and sister, Ida Mae of Boston.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces a graveside service for 89-year old Joyce Bridges of Lufkin, formerly of Center. She passed away Saturday in Lufkin. She was a longtime employee of The Century Shoppe in Center. Graveside service will be held at noon today at Fairview Cemetery in Center. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene in Lufkin. Among Joyce Bridges survivors is a daughter, Dovianne & J. David Boyd of Lufkin.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of service Sunday for 89-year old Pete Minter of Center. Service was held at First Baptist Church in Center, with interment at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. He was a building contractor and manager of Anderson Building Service in Center for many years, and was also a former high school principal at both Beckville & Tenaha ISDs, and served on the Center ISD & Tenaha ISD school boards. Among Pete Minter’s survivors are wife, Bettye Moore Minter of Center; children, Dr. David Minter of Fort Worth, Alan & Jinny Minter of Richmond, Marilyn Minter & Larry Ballard of Center, and Claire Minter & Jerry Page of Tyler. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Media Ministry in Center.

 

Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson announces service for 77-year old Mrs. Jo Ann Burrows of Timpson. She passed away Saturday in Tyler. Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday Dec. 6 in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in the Weaver Cemetery, Timpson. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. service time at Taylor Funeral Home. Survivors will be announced soon.

 

Wyman Roberts Funeral Home of San Augustine was in charge of service Sunday for 90-year old Mrs. Ruth Denby of San Augustine. She passed away last Wednesday in Queen City after an extended illness. Service was held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Huxley, with interment in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Among Ruth Denby’s survivors are sons, Horst Denby of Shelbyville and Jimmy & Pamela Denby of the White Rock Community; daughters, Peggy & Odis Norton of Vidor, and Heidi & Shane Bryan of Queen City.

 

Sterling-White Funeral Home in Highlands, TX announces service for 78-year old Joe A. Steed, formerly of Shelby County. He passed away Nov. 24. Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sterling White Funeral Home in Highlands. Among Joe A. Steed’s survivors is his wife, Betty Steed; and son, Robert Steed.
