Members of the UIL Academic team traveled to Carthage High School on
Saturday, November 15th for the Bulldog Invitational. 

A dozen East Texas schools attended the tournament.  In Computer Applications, Brianna Cox won second and Rosa Huerta was third. In Current Events, Dallas O'Donnell came home with 5th place.  James Holt finished 6th in Number Sense.  Changcai Wang brought home the gold medal in accounting.  In Informative Speaking, Holden Massey finished first and Brianna Suell was third.

In Mathematics, James Holt was second.  In Cross-X debate, the team of Holden Massey and Bailey Snell finished 2-1 and was ranked 7th overall.

The Science team dominated the competition. Kaleth Salazar won the gold, James Holt the silver, and Dillon Reynolds was sixth.

The top Biology score was Kaleth Salazar, top Chemistry was James Holt, and Dillon Reynolds had the top Physics score. The team won the first place team plaque. Social Studies Brianna Suell received 5th and Chloe Gipsen received 6th.

The team as a whole received 3rd out of 6.
