The Timpson FFA Greenhand Chapter Conducting Team is headed to the state contest after taking 2^nd place at the Area IX Leadership Development event recently.

A Greenhand FFA member means the student’s first year in FFA, which in many schools would be freshmen in high school. However, Timpson ISD offers its first agriculture class in the eighth grade.

Chapter conducing is a leadership event where members used parliamentary procedure to perform a mock meeting.

Team members include McKenzie Burgay, Triston Smith, Sara Duke, Hope Milford, Madelyn Ramsey, Ryan Golden and Macey Jo Hanson.

They are sponsored by Jacob Spivey. State competition is Dec. 5 & 6 in Hunstville.
