Local Sports Round up 11/11/14; Girls tip-off basketball season today, Dragons drop in AP poll after setback, Panola just misses national tourney

The girls' high school basketball season will tip-off today. The Shelbyville Lady Dragons will open up at Burkeville at 5:30 p.m.; the Timpson Lady Bears head to All-Saints in Tyler for a 6 p.m. start; the Joaquin Rams get underway at home with a 5 p.m. tip-off tomorrow against the San Augustine Lady Wolves; and the Tenaha Lady Tigers will be at the Garrison Lady Bulldogs in a 5:30 p.m. start Tuesday.

The final AP Texas High School Football Poll for the season was released Monday, and the Tenaha Tigers have fallen a spot to No. 16 in the Class 2A rankings. The Shelbyville Dragons were No. 11 last week, but after losing to West Sabine, they’ve fallen off the radar. West Sabine is No. 17, and Alto is No. 7 in the same poll.
