Search continues for Timpson bank robbery suspects

It’s been a week today since the armed robbery of Austin Bank in Timpson, and according to authorities there have been no new developments in the search for the two male suspects responsible.

Sheriff Willis Blackwell told Center Broadcasting Thursday they’re still looking for two black males that entered the bank in downtown Timpson just before 4 p.m. with a shotgun and demanded cash. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspects made off with just over $2,000, leaving the scene in a small white car and taking Hwy. 59 in an unknown direction of travel.

Heading up the investigation is the FBI, with assistance from Texas Rangers and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 598-5600.
