Local gas prices drop below state-wide average, down 14 cents in past week

The drop in gasoline prices continued over the past week. According to gasbuddy.com, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Texas is averaging $2.75 a gallon, that's down seven cents in the past week. In Louisiana, a gallon’s averaging $2.81, down six cents in a week. Nationally, the average is $2.95, which is seven cents less than last week and 27 cents less from the same time a year ago. Here at home, checking prices this morning in Center, it’s below the statewide average as the lowest we found was $2.72 at Wal-Mart, down 14 cents in the past week.
