October ending cold & windy, dress appropriately for tonight's outdoor events

It's Halloween and October is ending on a cold, windy note as Canadian air is headed into the Piney Woods today, as we'll have the coolest temperatures so far this fall with nighttime lows Saturday and Sunday mornings in the mid to upper 30s, and yes a chance of frost.

Tonight's trick-or-treaters and Friday night football fans will want to dress appropriately as temperatures will be in the lower 60s by sunset, and then falling into the low to middle 50s by mid-evening, a moderate north breeze will have wind chills into the upper 30s to low 40s.

Deer hunting season gets underway Saturday, and hunters will see chilly temps before sunrise both Saturday and Sunday, but plenty of sunshine and afternoon highs in the low to mid 60s.

By the way, don’t forget to set your clock back one hour before going to bed Saturday night. Daylight Savings Time comes to an end at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, and we'll be able to get an extra hour of sleep. Sunset will be around 5:30 p.m.
