Nacogdoches Co. sheriff does not believe KKK rally will take place Nov. 8

There’s been some speculation that the Texas Knights of the Ku Klux Klan would be holding their fall rally and cross lighting next Saturday, Nov. 8 on private property in Nacogdoches County.

On the group’s website, texaskkk.com, it’s stated, they will have such an event.

Yesterday, Sheriff Jason Bridges issued a statement, saying after checking into information using state and federal resources his office does not believe such a rally will be held in Nacogdoches County.

He said his department will continue to work with those agencies to purse info and leads about the rally.

However, in the event that the rally is held in Nacogdoches County, Sheriff Bridges said his office, as well as area law enforcement is prepared to handle the situation that arises.

He added that any meeting that deals with criminal intent or hatred will be dealt with accordingly.

He asks citizens to not panic or be over alarmed on mere discussion of a KKK rally being hosted in Nacogdoches County.
