According to Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell, the death of a Center man over the weekend appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

In a press release Monday, Sheriff Blackwell says deputies along with EMS were dispatched at 5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon to the home of 54-year old Dale Wayne Harding on County Road 1023.

Harding's body was discovered by his brother who hadn't been able to contact him for a week or so.

Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Maxie Eaves pronounced Dale Wayne Harding deceased at the scene.

The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office Investigator Chad Brown.
