Youngster injured in dog attack said to be OK, parents arrested for Injury to a Child Serious Bodily Injury

We want to bring you up-to-date on the incident that involved a child being attacked by a pit bull dog last Wednesday near Timpson in the Rose Hill Community.

The three-year old male was life-flighted to Texas Children’s Hospital in Dallas, and suffered multiple head injuries from the attack. It's reported the child will be OK.

Center Broadcasting was advised in a press release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office that Child Abuse Investigator Chad Brown was investigating the incident.

We have been able to verify through Dallas County Jail records that the parents of the child, 20- year old Leanne Fox and 27-year old David Parks were both arrested Thursday and booked in to the Dallas County Jail on a charge of Injury to a Child Serious Bodily Injury. They are to be transferred back to Shelby County.

Leann Fox was indicted by a Shelby County Grand Jury last month and charged with Criminal Negligent Homicide Injury to a Child in the death of a toddler child that reportedly drowned in a bathtub.

The dog in question has been quarantined.

We’ll have more information on this story as it becomes available.
