Two life-flighted from scene of one-vehicle accident on U.S. Hwy. 96 north Friday

A single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon on U.S. Hwy. 96, just south of Tenaha sent two men via two separate life-flight helicopters to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.

The incident occurred just before 3:30 p.m. when 18-year old Chris Brown, driving an Audi A4, with three other teen-age passengers, applied his brakes for unknown reason, losing control, left the roadway, and rolled multiple times.

Brown and 17-year old Michael Downs were flown from the scene. A 14-year old female was taken by ACE EMS to ETMC Carthage, for treatment of unknown injuries, while another 17-year old male was un-hurt.

Brown remains in the hospital and is reported to have a long-road to recovery via a Facebook post from a family member.

Meanwhile, Downs was released with a compound fracture in his back. The condition of the 14-year old is not known.
