State of Louisiana releases accountability ratings for parish schools, Logansport makes a "C"

The state of Louisiana earlier this week released the state's accountability grades for all parish schools, and DeSoto Parish had an overall increase of over 2.5 percent to a 92, giving the district its first performance score in the 90s. This labels the parish as a "B" district by the Louisiana Department of Education.

In Logansport, which encompassed prekindergarten through 12th grade had a "C" grade with a 79.5, and Stanley High remained a "B".

Elsewhere in the parish, Mansfield Middle and High School had a "D", while on the north end of the parish, North DeSoto Elementary schools had a "B", as did North DeSoto High, and North DeSoto Middle School came in with an "A".

The results indicate 70 percent of DeSoto students are "proficient", meaning they scored at basic or above.
